Suitable for all abilities, so if you want to try something new or you are returning to a past passion, come along and enjoy a relaxing painting session with us.
We are a friendly little art studio where the emphasis is on fun, friendship and creativity. (Oh, and cake!)
The groups are small and the classes are informal. Sessions are between 1.5 and 2 hours long (some workshops may be longer). 1:1 tutoring is also available.
‘Ladies Painting Evenings’ at Red Poppies are a great way to enjoy an evening out with your friends. Book the entire studio for an evening, select the painting you would like to produce, upgrade to a canvas, and maybe add on a sharing platter. You can even bring your own wine!

We also have a small shop area where you will find gifts and artwork for sale by resident artist Gill Buckmaster. (Commissions also undertaken).
Gill is a member of The Tutors Association, and has Enhanced DBS Certification.
Established in 2018, Red Poppies Studio is located on its own floor with a separate bathroom and is airy, well ventilated and cleaned between sessions.

I’ve been an artist all of my life, my first memories are of drawing, making, painting and crafting.
After leaving school I studied illustration at my local college followed by a Graphic Design and Printmaking degree in Brighton. I worked for several years as a freelance designer in London before relocating to Bucks and establishing my own design company working with Harrods, John Lewis, and Fortnum and Mason to name a few.
In recent years I’ve returned to my first love of painting. My range of watercolour, ink and mixed media paintings with their distinctive nature themes and bright color palettes have proven very popular and collectible. New lines of prints and greetings cards are now available too.
I’m keen to pass on my skills and having undertaken a teaching qualification I began hosting workshops for adults several years ago. I was honoured to be awarded an ‘outstanding’ assessment from Bucks Adult Learning in my first year. I now teach several sessions a week and have developed a workshop style that both beginners and more advanced painters can enjoy and learn from.
My work can be seen at several galleries and I regularly participate in Art shows locally, across the South of England.

Jo Stone
Jo is an Artist, living and working in Heath and Reach, near Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire. Jo has a BA Hons in Fine Art from Loughborough, and an Art Teacher’s Certificate from Goldsmiths.Jo is a qualified teacher, and has over 30 years’ experience teaching in schools, colleges and adult education.
Alongside her own art practice Jo run classes and workshops as well as exhibiting, selling and working at commissions. Jo belongs to The Eagle Gallery in Bedford and also Artists Network Bedfordshire
Jo teaches Portraiture in various media, oil painting, life drawing and painting. Jo also runs one day workshops in the summers
