DESCRIPTION:After an extensive education in art culminating in his time at Goldsmiths Gary has become an accomplished painter and educator and exhibits across the Uk. \nGary is well known for the depth of his art history knowledge too but he will join us for this Demo to discuss how we can critique our own work. \nTo that end.. \nPlease bring a painting along which you are happy for Gary to critique and bring out the fundamental things which make a good painting. This doesn’t need to be your ‘best work or a finished work’. DESCRIPTION:Venue TBC ( Likely Lindslade School see below) \nJulie is an artist and sculptor / potter working in clay\, she makes ceramic sculptures and vessels for indoor and outdoor spaces. Fired to a high temperature the work is finished in neutral colours or painted with a bronze\, rust or copper effect \nHer work is about form\, space and movement of  animals  and birds. She distils line\, curves and shapes within a structure to their simplest form. \nJulie studied Art at the University of Hertfordshire completing a degree in Fine Art in 2015. SUMMARY:Workshop - Artist Julie Leaming ( Pottery sculptures in clay )
DESCRIPTION:  \nJulie Leaming is a sculptor\, ceramicist and teacher of both at Oaklands College in St Albans from. She will guide us through the creation of a( max 12 inch tall) sculpture of our chosen subject ( a figure\, Animal or vessel) to the point that it is ready to fire with or without a glaze. \nJulie will then take our creations and fire them in her studio aiming to have them back with us for collection locally  a few weeks later. \nClay and a few basic tools will be provided for this event but you are welcome to bring along anything you have that you might think will help. A list of materials will be sent approx 6 weeks before the event. \nTo join the event please complete the following booking form using the link below and follow the payment instructions on the form to secure your place.
