Art Demonstration with Jenny Whalley subject – Figures in Watercolour

Jenny Whalley is a mixed media artist. At our demonstration she will be demonstrating figurework

“So! When does one refer to themselves as a British Artist?  Would it be now that I have been in the UK for 21 years painting watercolour and mixed media scenes of London Skyline, red London buses, bikes and black taxies or boats and seaside villages or busy markets?

Initially from Zimbabwe, I still get a buzz painting Zebras, chickens, giraffe, elephants, birds of prey, African scenes.

As a demonstrator I love bringing in my Audience, creating stories on the paper whatever topic I am painting; lively Jazz Bands, overloaded African taxies, open ‘trucks’ with people chickens or goats on board or a people filled London Scene, historical and Iconic buildings, Red buses, Black taxis and Bikes.

I paint draw and demonstrate using many different mediums, Watercolour, mixed media, pastels both soft and oil pastels.  Some of my unusual use of mediums, Oil pastel and shoe polish drawn on 21-year-old rag paper, was created out of a lack of a variety of art materials in a heavily sanctioned Zimbabwe.

If you are interested in a commission can be contacted through either website: – OR ”

Demonstration free to LBAS members, non members welcome for the small fee of £6 which can be set against LBAS membership if you join by the end of the month

The event is finished.
