We meet in a large hall, with plenty of room for the demonstrator and audience. The work is projected onto a large screen above the demonstrator so even minute details may be observed during the demonstration. There is a refreshment break part way through when the audience are encouraged to go and look at the work close up and talk to the demonstrator directly.

Leighton Buzzard Art Society is an active and friendly community group. Full membership is open to anyone aged 14* or over who is interested in art,  practising or not, amateur or professional. Guests are welcome at all meetings on payment of an entry fee .

Our activity is centred on our monthly meetings which often feature a demonstration or talk by a professional artist. Usually a close up of the work is projected onto a large screen so everybody can see what the artist is doing. We aim to cover all areas of interest and different media including oils, watercolour, acrylics, pencil, inks, printing, mixed media and many others.

Meetings take place at 7.45pm on the third Thursday of each month except August.

  • Our annual exhibition is held at the end of October.  You’ll find details under Exhibitions.

*(Aged 14 – 16 must be accompanied by an adult member)

Professional Artist Members

Professional and semi-professional artists are welcome to join us, with the benefit of being able to exhibit their work locally and let members know about their classes and workshops.

LBAS held its annual exhibition Oct 27th – 29th at All Saints Church

The event was wonderfully successful with many visitors, lots of art sold, many new members and a great atmosphere throughout the day.
The venue of the beautiful church was ideal, especially as they have such a wonderful cafe (tremendous homemade cake!)
